Meta-Analysis on the Effectiveness of Using the Drama Approach in Social Studies Course

The aim of this study is to explore the effect size drama approach used in social studies course on academic achievement through meta-analysis method Turkish sample. included were searched at following databases, namely, National Thesis Centre Council Higher Education (YÖK), ULAKBİM TR Index, Google Scholar, and Scopus by using keywords “creative drama”, “drama”, “dramatization”. As a result database search, was carried out with 31 studies, including 26 master’s theses, 2 doctoral dissertations, 3 papers, all conducted course. data related analyzed entering them into CMA (Comprehensive Meta-Analysis) MetaWin software programs. Due fact that our heterogeneous one another, sizes calculated according random effects model. In addition this, grade levels, weeks application, number samples identified as moderator variables. results showed had positive significant impact students’ achievement. Nevertheless, analyses indicated level, week led no change No publication bias found analysis. Based study, we have made recommendations for future research be teaching purposes
